President Obama announced a $2 billion government funding committment for solar energy companies to support the creation of new jobs in the energy field.  President Obama sees the expansion of "clean energy" jobs as one of the solutions to the current recession.

President Obama announced that Abengoa Solar and Abound Solar, Inc. will received $1.85 billion in loan guarantees to build solar power plants in the U.S.  Thousands of new jobs will be created.  Abengoa Solar will build a solar plant in Arizona.  Abound solar will expand a solar panel manufacturing plant in Colorado, and will bulild a new solar plant in Indiana.
